Softball, baseball postseason: 45th District tourneys open Monday

The matchups are set for the first round of the 45th District softball and baseball playoffs Monday.
The Lincoln County Lady Patriot softball team, the girls’ three-seed, and the Lincoln County Bat Patriot baseball team, the boys’ four-seed, will be on the road for the post-season opening round, with Danville High School hosting the softball tournament at Millennium Park’s Field No. 1 and Garrard County High School hosting the baseball tournament at the Garrard Middle School field.
Boyle County (20-10), the girls’ top seed, will play fourth-seeded Danville (4-17) at 6 p.m. Monday night at Millennium Park while Lincoln (9-16) will take on second-seeded Garrard County (20-7) in the second game. First pitch for the second game will be 20 minutes after the end of Game 1.
Over at Garrard Middle, host Garrard (10-10), the boys’ three-seed, will play two-seed Danville (24-8) at 5:30 p.m. Lincoln (3-24) will take on top-seeded Boyle County (21-4) 20 minutes after the Garrard/Danville game ends.
The softball championship game will be played Tuesday, May 22, at 6 p.m. at Millennium Park and the final of the baseball tournament will be played Wednesday, May 23, at 6 p.m. at Garrard Middle.
Rainouts will push play to the next day.
Admission to either tournament is $5.
