45th District Tournament opens Monday at Danville

District tournament time is here for prep basketball.
The Lincoln County girls’ and boys’ basketball teams begin postseason play next week in the 45th District Tournament.
The tournament gets underway Monday, Feb. 19, at Danville High School, with Garrard County and Kentucky School for the Deaf facing off in both girls’ and boys’ action at 6 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
The three-time defending district champion Lincoln County Lady Patriots, the girls’ No. 1 seed, will take the court Tuesday in the first semifinal round. The Lady Patriots will play the Garrard/KSD winner at 6 p.m.
Boyle County, the boys’ No. 1 seed, will play the winner of the Garrard/KSD game Tuesday in the second semifinal game at 7:45 p.m.
The Patriots, the four-time defending 45th District Tournament champions and No. 2 boys’ seed, will see action Wednesday, Feb. 21, in the second semifinal round, taking on host Danville at 7:45 p.m.
The Danville girls play crosstown rival Boyle County in game one Wednesday night. The tip for the girls’ game is 6 p.m.
The championship games will be played on Friday, Feb. 23. Tipoff for the girls’ final game is 6 p.m., followed by the boys’ final at 7:45.
