Lincoln County High School basketball fans anxious for the start of a new season will have to wait until Nov. 27 and 28 for the tipoffs. However, they won’t have to wait that long to get their first look at the 2017-18 Lady Patriot and Patriot squads with the annual Meet the Patriots basketball kickoff/fundraiser set for Saturday, Nov. 11, at LCHS.

The event begins with a chili supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the upper gym lobby. The chili supper is $8 and includes admission to the gym for the Meet the Patriots event.

At 7 p.m., the Meet the Patriots activities will begin in the J.C. Eddleman Gymnasium. The night will feature introductions of LCHS fall sports teams and cheer squads. The Lady Patriot and Patriot basketball teams will each hold a brief scrimmage following their introductions. Tickets for Meet the Patriots only are $5.

Tickets for the event may be purchased from any LCHS player.

The Lady Patriots, led by coach Cassandra McWhorter open their 2017-18 campaign on Nov. 27, playing host to Pulaski County. The Patriots, led by coach Jeff Jackson, will be on the road for their season opener, tipping off their season the following night, Nov. 28, at Lafayette.

The Lady Patriots finished at 23-9 last season with a 45th District championship win and a 12th Region runner-up finish.

The Patriots were 23-10 last season and also won a 45th District championship title, however, their regional run would end in the first round in a loss to Wayne County.
