Lincoln County Farm Bureau sponsored activities in Adventures in Agriculture at McKinney Elementary School.

Ag lenders PBK Bank, First Southern National Bank, Famers National Bank, Casey County Bank in Crab Orchard, Ag Credit and Farm Credit donated money to help pay for the event.

LCHS FFA students and Lincoln County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee volunteers, and representatives from the Ag Lenders came to help with the various stations.

There were videos at individual levels to introduce the students to agriculture in Kentucky and to where their food came from. After seeing the overview students circulated through the learning stations to learn about such things as what types of seeds look like, grinding wheat to make flour (below), making a seed necklace, matching animals to their descriptions of what they do, good nutrition, a game about what can happen on a farm to affect a farmer’s income, and going on a scavenger hunt to see what is produced in different counties in Kentucky.
