Lincoln County Retired Teachers recently collected school supplies and utilized a grant from AARP to help get Lincoln County students prepared for the beginning of school.
Working with the school resource centers, they rotate yearly among the elementary, middle, and high schools receiving these supplies.
This year Crab Orchard Elementary and Fort Logan School were the recipients.
In addition to school supplies, local retired teachers also donate backpack items for students and non-perishables for Fort Logan Ministries, among other things.
There are over 230 retired teachers in Lincoln County who volunteer thousands of hours each year to help their community and their schools.
