LCMS girls sweep East, Bondurant

The Lincoln County Middle School girls basketball teams dominated on the hardwood this past week, sweeping both East Jessamine and Bondurant of Frankfort by margins of 20 points or better each game.
The Lady Eagles got their week started on the road at East Jessamine Middle School on Thursday.
Talynne Shearer put up double figures to lead Lincoln in the sixth-grade game, finishing with 10 points in a 26-4 rout.
Chelsea Barnes contributed six points for the Lady Eagles, Makayla Greer added four points, Ellyann Sims had three points, Macey Rice had two, and Angel Denny had one.
Lincoln’s highest-scoring player of the night came in the seventh-grade win, with Chloe Ralston putting up 13 points in a 39-18 victory over East Jessamine.
Also scoring for Lincoln were Shearer with nine points, Chloee Dunn with seven points, Emily Estes with six points and Emma Releford and Mercedes Hensley each with two points.
Ally Lynn paced the eighth-grade Lincoln girls in their 42-17 victory at East, tallying a game-high 12 points.
Kelby Petrey and Abby Lane both finished with nine points, Claudia Padgett had four points, Alyvia Taylor and Haleigh Ellison each had three points, and Michaela Tracy had two points.
The Lady Eagles followed the sweep at East Jessamine by cleaning up at home in a 3-0 run over visiting Bondurant of Frankfort Monday at LCMS.
Talynne Shearer and Makayla Greer combined for 26 points to lead the sixth-grade Lady Eagles in a 39-13 crushing of Bondurant.
Shearer tossed in a game-high 16 points and Greer followed with 10 points.
Maecey Carrier added six points, Chelsea Barnes had five points, and Macey Rice finished with two points.
The Lincoln seventh-graders romped in their game with Bondurant, walking away with a 47-11 victory.
Nine different Lady Eagles figured in the night’s scoring with Chloe Ralston leading the way with 12 points. Chelsea Barnes scored eight points, Talynne Shearer added six points, Peyton Boyd got five points, Chloee Dunn, Emily Estes, and Mercedes Hensley each added four points and Emmie Releford and Lakyn York got two points apiece.
Lincoln wrapped up the Bondurant tripleheader with a 39-19 win in the eighth-grade game.
Ally Lynn led Lincoln with 12 points, Alyvia Taylor had nine points, Claudia Padgett and Chloe Ralston had six points each, Abby Lane scored four points, and Haleigh Ellison had two.
The LCMS seventh- and eighth-grade teams competed in a tournament Saturday at Garrard County and both came away with trophies.
The seventh-grade Lady Eagles brought home a first-place trophy by defeating Campbellsville 44-8, East Hardin 33-15, and Elkhorn 43-24 in the finals. The eighth-graders grabbed a runner-up trophy by defeating East Hardin 42-6 and Campbellsville 36-15, before losing to Elkhorn 41-33 in the finals.
