Lincoln track opens season at Boyle

The Lincoln County High School track and field teams got their season off and running last Tuesday in Danville as they participated in the Boyle County All-Comers Meet.
The young Lincoln teams scored in only one event, with the girls’ 400-meter relay team finishing sixth overall with a time of 59.14 seconds.
Lincoln would earn top 10 finishes in four events, with field competitor Abigail Carter and sprinter Lucy Singleton getting in the top 10 as individuals.
Carter had two of the four top 10 finishes, placing ninth overall in both discus and shot put. She had a throw of 74-00.00 in discus and went 27-05.50 in shot.
Singleton scored her top 10 finish in the 200-meter dash. She covered the distance in 30.24 seconds to place 10th.
