William “Billy” Hawley, 71

William “Billy” Hawley, 71, of Crab Orchard, passed away Thursday, December 29, at his home with his family by his side.
Born November 25, 1945, in Lincoln County, Billy was a son of the late Fred and Eliza (Pettit) Hawley. He enjoyed trap shooting and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed deer, turkey and coon hunting. Billy was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Dix River Coon Club. He also had worked for the State Highway Department in Garrard County, the National Casket Company, M&R Powerlines, The Allen Co. and the Lincoln County Board of Education as a bus driver. Billy was a lifelong member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his loving wife, Connie (Bunch) Hawley, whom he married on November 25, 2002; sons, Richard (Kathy) Hawley, David Keith Hawley (and companion Suzie Ligon), Terry Lee (Zea) Hawley, Billy Ray (Tiffany) Ledford and Randy Ledford, Jr.; daughters, Billie Jean Lunceford and Kim (Dale) Lamb; brothers, Danny W. and Eddie L. Hawley; niece, Lugenea Goodwin; special grandchildren, Christopher Chad Hawley, David Lunceford, Jr., Hunter Hawley, Carly Rose, Adyson, Colton and Desini; and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Margaret “June” Hawley and Sara Mae Hawley Goodwin.
Funeral services were Sunday, January 1, 2017 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dan Gutenson and Bro. Lanny Hazelwood officiating. Burial was in the Dix River Church of Christ Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were his children, Richy, Keith, Billie Jean, Terry, Billy Ray and Randy. Honorary pallbearers were James Logan, Gerald Smith, Harvey Saylor, Dennis McCoy, Geroge Long and Jack Haggard.
