William C. McFerson, 86, of the Pine Grove Community, died Saturday, October 29 at the
Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  
Born October 12, 1930, in Preachersville, William was a son of the late Roy and Mary Lucille Woods McFerson. He was a member of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church and a former horse trainer and groomer. William was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army and a member of the VFW Post # 3634 of Stanford. He was the husband of Lana Woodall McFerson whom he married on July 5, 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Lana F. Woodall McFerson; one daughter, Sandra and husband Jack Taylor; one son, William Roy McFerson; one sister, Louise Timberlake; brother-in-law, Jerry Lee Woodall; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Brooklyn McFerson; and two sisters, Lois Parker and Janet Norwalk.
Funeral services are at noon today (Thursday, Nov. 3) at McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard with Bro. Travis Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Church of Christ Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Jerry Lee Woodall, Brian, Michael and Cody McFerson, Nate Hicks and Brandon Owens.
