Endorses Lambert for Ky. Supreme Court

Dear Editor,

As the primary season kicks into top gear, it is important for those who are active voters to remember one of the least talked about — but perhaps one of the most consequential — offices: the Kentucky Supreme Court.

It is without reservation that I whole-heartedly endorse Judge Debra Hembree Lambert to be the next Kentucky Supreme Court Justice for the 3rd District.

Judge Lambert has an impressive resume, having graduated in the top quarter of her class from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Additionally, Judge Lambert has been a leading Jurist who has not been idle in her service. She founded the first Family and Juvenile Drug Courts in her area of jurisdiction, she has been a leader in preventing truancy for vulnerable youth and currently serves as a Judge on the Kentucky Court of Appeals, where she is a dedicated Constitutional Conservative pledged to upholding the Spirit of both the United States and Kentucky Constitutions without Judicial overreach or activism.

Judge Lambert has been recognized for her work as a thoughtful Jurist on many occasions. She has been recognized as an Eastern Kentucky University Outstanding Alumnus and has been inducted to the National Drug Court Hall of Fame for her work in combating the drug epidemic.

Judge Lambert also knows well the dedication it takes work in the real world outside of government. She has been an attorney in private practice for nearly fifteen years. Therefore, it is for the reasons above that I feel Judge Lambert is the most qualified person to protect our rights and interests on the Kentucky Supreme Court.

Anyone who knows Judge Lambert knows that she is a grounded person who has not allowed her impressive resume to go to her head. She is a kind, understanding and compassionate person who remembers well her humble roots in Bell County — she understands the people in Lincoln County. I hope that you will take advantage of the opportunity to meet Judge Lambert on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Kentucky Depot and hear her vision of what the Kentucky Supreme Court should represent.
