Stanford departments report March activity

STANFORD – Stanford Code Enforcement reported 31 property violations during the month of March.

According to the monthly report given to Stanford City Council members, Code Enforcement gave 22 verbal warnings in March.

Code Enforcement granted two building permits, one sign permit and two certificates of occupancy.

A total of 63 business licenses were issued or renewed in March and one demolition was reported.

Stanford Code Enforcement Officer Jeff Knouse attended a three-day training on Risk and Safety in Hebrew, Kentucky.

The Stanford Fire Department (SFD) responded to 74 incidents in March.

From March 1 to March 31, SFD responded to the following incidents:

• Fire, other – 1

• Building fire – 2

• Medical assist, assist EMS crew – 28

• EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury – 4

• Motor vehicle accident with injuries – 1

• Search for person on land – 1

• Search for person in water – 1

• Gasoline or other flammable liquid spill – 3

• Overheated motor – 1

• Power line down – 1

• Assist police or other governmental agency – 2

• Unauthorized burning – 2

• Good intent call, other – 1

• Dispatched and canceled en route – 7

• no incident found upon arrival – 1

• Authorized controlled burning – 9

• Prescribed fire – 1

• Smoke scare, odor of smoke – 1

• Unintentional transmission of alarm, other – 3

• Alarm system activation, no fire – unintentional – 2

• Wind storm, tornado/hurricane assessment – 2

The Stanford Police Department also provided a monthly report for March.

SPD reported a total of 784 contacts through 911 during March. Officers wrote 177 citations and gave 52 warnings.

There were 26 arrests made and officers responded to 23 accidents. A total of 49 “incidents/cases” were reported and officers participated in four hour of training including roll call training and departmental standard field sobriety training.
