Ephraim McDowell welcomes three new advanced care providers to its team. Colyn Wright, PA-C, will join Ephraim McDowell Gastroenterology; Teresa McIlvoy, PMHNP, will joining Ephraim McDowell Behavioral Health; and Col. Stephen K. Hall, MSN, APRN, NP-C, U.S. Army retired, will join Ephraim McDowell Heart & Vascular Institute.

Wright, PA-C will join the Ephraim McDowell Gastroenterology practice on Jan. 4 with Dr. Edgar Salas, Dr. Ryan Carbaugh, Dr. Fred Closson, and Amanda Murphy, APRN.

Wright attended the University of Kentucky and earned a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition, with a minor in biology. She then went on to earn her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Kentucky after a year of travel as an international leadership consultant. Wright is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She has a deep-rooted passion for patient care in many capacities. She appreciates both acute and chronic disease management, with particular interest in internal medicine and emergency medicine. Wright discovered her interest in medicine as a pediatric patient in a gastroenterology clinic, so it is especially meaningful to begin her career in gastroenterology.

Wright and her husband, Skyler, live in Lincoln County where they are renovating a home together. In her free time, she loves sitting around a bonfire, snuggling up with a good book and cup of coffee, going for a long walk with her dog, and spending time with family.

McIlvoy, PMHNP, will join Dr. Stuart Larson, Lee Ann Hunt, LCSW, and Samantha Goodlett, PMHNP on Jan. 3 at Ephraim McDowell Behavioral Health.

McIlvoy is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, specializing in the treatment of psychiatric/mental health illnesses. She has expertise in the care of outpatient mental health needs across the lifespan, with a special interest in the treatment of children and adolescents. She is qualified and experienced in treating illnesses including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. Teresa strives to provide her patients with the best care possible and experience positive outcomes for all their mental health needs.

McIlvoy lives in Springfield with her husband, Terry, and two dogs. They have four sons, Alex, Nick, Matthew and Cody, two daughters-in-law and five grandchildren from ages 2 months to 13 years. During her free time, she enjoys singing and playing the piano at church, baking, working outdoors and spending time with her family.

Hall, MSN, APRN, NP-C. Stephen will join the Ephraim McDowell Heart & Vascular Institute on Jan. 4.

Hall is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has more than 35 years of experience. He received his bachelor of science in nursing from Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and his master of science in nursing from the University of Kentucky.

Hall was commissioned as a second lieutenant into the U.S. Army, and the Army Nurse Corps, in 1987. During his career he had numerous assignments in the United States and overseas culminating as the Chief Nursing Officer at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany. He is the recipient of the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and is a member of the prestigious Order of Military Medical Merit for significant exemplary contributions to the United States Army Medical Department. He retired from the U.S. Army in 2018 with 30 years of active-duty service.

Hall lives in Lebanon with his wife, Diane. They have four children and seven grandchildren. During his free time, he enjoys church, family, fishing and hunting and attending UK football and basketball games.
