Stanford departments report monthly activity

STANFORD – The Stanford Police Department made 28 arrests during the month of November, according to a monthly activity report given to Stanford City Council members.

SPD reported a total of 829 contacts through 911 from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. During that time, SPD officers wrote 279 citations and gave 58 warnings.

The department responded to a total of 17 accidents and 30 incidents/cases in Nov.

In total, SPD reported 146 hours of training including: 40 hours of DOCJT Executive command training for Chief Zach Middleton; 24 hours of breath test training for T. Godbey; 40 hours DOCJT SRO II for Officer Hester; and 40 hours of DOCJT Domestic Violence training for Officer Ferguson.

The Stanford Fire Department reported a total of 79 incidents for the month of November.

SFD responded to one fire and 50 rescue and emergency medical service calls, according to the monthly report.

From Nov. 1 through Nov. 30, SFD reported the following incidents:

• grass fire – 1

• medical assist, assist EMS crew – 20

• EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury – 26

• motor vehicle accident with injuries – 3

• motor vehicle accident with no injuries – 1

• gasoline or other flammable liquid spill – 1

• gas leak (natural gas or LPG) – 7

• water or stream leak – 1

• public service assistance, other – 1

• assist police or other gov. agency – 1

• assist invalid – 1

• unauthorized burning – 1

• good intent call, other – 1

• dispatched and cancelled en route – 3

• no incident found on arrival at dispatch address – 1

• authorized controlled burning – 3

• sprinkler activation due to malfunction – 1

• alarm system activation, no fire – unintentional – 3

• special type of incident, other – 1

• citizen complaint – 2

Stanford Code Enforcement also provided a monthly activity report to the City Council.

In Nov., Code Enforcement wrote nine violations and gave 24 verbal warnings. There were two Board of Adjustment meetings.

Code Enforcement issued one building permit and one sign permit in November, as well as two porch/deck permits and one certificate of occupancy.

There was one commercial building change of use granted, one plat review and two conditional use requests received.

A total of 189 business licenses were issued or renewed in November.
