Enoch Yantz, Jr., age 76, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 10, 2022. Born Tuesday, February 5, 1946, in Stanford, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Enoch J. Yantz, Sr. and the late Vernice Irvin Yantz. His loving wife, whom he married Saturday, November 19, 1977, is Freida Barnett Yantz of Waynesburg. Enoch retired from the Lincoln County School System, after 27 years of teaching English & PE. Enoch also served as basketball coach during his teaching career. In his spare time, Enoch enjoyed fishing, farming, woodworking, and gardening. In addition to his wife, Enoch leaves behind four children, Dale Perry of West Chester, Ohio, Ryan Yantz (Elizabeth) of Jamestown, Tennessee, Sissy King (Scott) of Jamestown, and Dallas Sheffield of Danville, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Cortney Perry, Tamara Woodward (Isaac), Keith Yantz (Kayla), Lynzee Yantz, Andrew King, Rachel King, Kensie Sheffield, and Lane Sheffield; four great-grandchildren, Phoenix James, Freyja James, Naomi Woodward, and Eleanor Woodward; two brothers, Larry Yantz of Waynesburg, and Gene “Boots” Lewis of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing. In addition to his parents, Enoch was preceded in death by one sister, Christine Hackler. A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Monday, December 12, 2022, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home. The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Enoch’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Dale Perry, Ryan Yantz, Dallas Sheffield, Scott Yantz, Chad Yantz, Keith Yantz, and Tim Yantz will serve as Active Pallbearers. Greg Oaks, J.C. Singleton, Fred Padgett, Coon Padgett, and Wendell Strunk will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home, Waynesburg, is entrusted with Enoch’s arrangements.
