In perhaps the most-watched race in Lincoln County, Dwight Hopkins unseated interim Circuit Clerk Angelia Doolin, according to unofficial results in Lincoln County. Hopkins was credited with 4,369 votes to 3,024 for Doolin.

Hopkins is the chair of the county’s Republican party, and has run for office on several occasions. Doolin, who has served in the Circuit Clerk’s office for the past 24 years, has been in the role of interim clerk since last October, when longtime incumbent Teresa Reed retired.

In other races, Griffin Harness will be the county’s next jailer. Harness, a deputy with the sheriff’s office for six years, finished unofficially with 5,449 votes to challenger Darren Pike’s 1,743.
