The Ragnar Road Bourbon Chase is a 200-mile running relay across the state that follows the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Runners will enter Lincoln County beginning Friday night.

Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce Director Andrea Miller said the first runners should be arriving in Stanford at about 8:30 p.m. Friday.

The routes will be clearly marked through downtown, she said.

Runners will gather at the Jim Beam Distillery to start the race and then head east along country roads, running for two days and one night. The relay ends in downtown Lexington.

Runners in the past have enjoyed Stanford’s cookies so much they dubbed the city “Cookie Town.” Miller said Stanford will not disappoint as they will have plenty of cookies this year, as well. Stanford will also be offering massages, yoga on Main Street, crafts and cornhole.

This year’s theme is “Patriots on the Chase.”

Local businesses, organizations and churches are encouraged to donate cookies for the Friday night event.

Stanford residents are encouraged to come out at any time during the race and encourage runners.

Miller said she looks forward to the event each year, and it’s a great way to celebrate the City of Stanford.

Stanford has won the race’s “Hospitality Award” several times in the past.
