When Josh Will, wife Meredith and their business partner Laura Jack were looking to create a new family friendly spot in Danville, they knew they had the perfect location when they saw the building that once housed Morley’s Tire Shop for sale.

“Its a great piece of property with a lot of history behind it,” Josh Will said. “We wanted a gathering spot for people of all ages.”

The new venue, located at the former tire store location at 234 E. Walnut St. in Danville, will be called Morley’s Backyard to honor the memory of the old Morly’s Tire Shop that opened on the site in 1965.

Morley’s Backyard will be a microbrewery and bar that will offer spirits and craft beers from Kentucky. The location will have multiple TVs for sports, a play area for kids, and a spot for indoor corn hole.

Will said that they wanted a location where adults could have a good time while kids have safe place to play. A large back yard area can be used for concerts and other outdoor activities. They also have installed hookups for food trucks, so patrons can enjoy a meal along with their Kentucky craft brew.

Said Will: “Were trying to promote Kentucky and everything that is going on in this region.”

They hope to celebrate with a grand opening to be the end of month.
