The Distinguished Young Women of Lincoln County is part of a national scholarship program that recognizes and rewards leadership, academic success and talent. This year’s program is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lincoln County High School auditorium.

The program includes 13 high school seniors who will compete in the categories of interview, scholastics, talent, self-expression and fitness.

Interview and scholastics both comprise 25% of the total score, talent is 20%, and self-expression and fitness are 15% each. Five preliminary winners will be announced in each category of talent, self-expression and fitness. 

There will be an overall winner in both interview and scholastics and four additional awards in each of these areas. Final awards include first, second, third and fourth runners-up and a winner who will be named the 2023 Lincoln County Distinguished Young Woman. Several special scholarship awards will also be given.
