Abbie McMullin, 43, of Broughton School Road, was arrested Aug. 17 by K9 Sgt. Michael Mullins after he observed her vehicle traveling on U.S. 27 South.

According to the arrest citation, the vehicle, a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, could not maintain its lane and crossed both the center and fog line multiple times.

“Upon contact with the driver I noted her to have a bloodshot appearance to her eyes as well as constricted pupils,” the citation states. “I noted slurred speech and delayed response to questions.”

McMullin was given a standard field sobriety test, which indicated “the presence of alcoholic beverage” according to the deputy.

“Above (McMullin) later admitted to using a half of what she thought was Xanax that’s not prescribed to her but could be fake,” the citation states. “Inside her purse was a tin can with a baggy with several rectangle pills inside, identified as counterfeit Xanax.”

McMullin was taken to Fort Logan Hospital where she consented to a blood test. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence; careless driving; failure to wear a seatbelt; and possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified). She was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.

LCSO made several other arrests in August, including:

• Michael B. Miller, 43, of Shearer Lane in Stanford, was arrested Aug. 6 on drug-trafficking charges after his 2011 Nissan Maxima was searched during a highway safety checkpoint at the intersection of U.S. 27 north and Gilbert’s Creek.

Deputies had allegedly received an anonymous tip that Miller was selling marijuana, gummies and THC cartridges, according to the arrest citation.

“I asked him if he had anything illegal in the vehicle and he stated that he did not and that he was ready to get home,” the citation states. “I then asked above for consent to search the vehicle. He declined and stated that he was ready to go home.”

K9 Luma was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the front passenger side door.

As he was exiting the vehicle, Miller allegedly stated that he had marijuana in a backpack.

“Upon search of the backpack, located five sealed baggies with green, leafy substance, totaling 95.69 grams, two packs of THC, 11 THC cartridges, 3 tubs of marijuana dab,” the citation states.”

Miller stated that this was only for personal use and denied selling it, according to the citation.

He also had approximately $500 in cash.

Miller was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.

• Deedra Butler, 33, of Buell Street in Perryville, was arrested Aug. 16 on several charges after her 2007 Ford Ranger was stopped by deputies on Stanford Street in Crab Orchard for an illegible license plate.

Butler allegedly displayed nervous behavior upon contact with law enforcement, according to the arrest citation, and had a suspended license due to a previous charge of driving under the influence.

K9 Luma was deployed by K9 Sgt. Michael Mullins and the K9 alerted the presence of narcotics in the car.

“Deputies made contact with the above (Brown) who stated ‘I have a gun in my pocket,’ ” the citation states. “As deputies detained him, a protective sweep of the residence was performed and another male subject was present, along with grandpa.”

According to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) the firearm was stolen from Pulaski County. Brown said he bought the gun off of Facebook that day.

Brown allegedly told deputies there was paraphernalia and “maybe a dime bag of dope” in his room. Brown refused to allow deputies to search the room until later, as they were preparing a search warrant.

“…above advised he claimed everything and give consent to search the residence,” the citation states. “Above (Brown) showed us where the suspected meth is and stated that he only uses for personal use.”

Deputies noted approximately seven grams of suspected methamphetamine and a plate with white substance.
