Ephraim McDowell Health welcomes pediatrician Elisa Spindel, D.O., to the Medical Staff. Dr. Spindel will start on Sept. 12 and will practice with Dr. John-Emmett Mahon and Jessica Lester, A.P.R.N., at Ephraim McDowell Mercer Pediatrics.

Dr. Spindel completed her bachelor’s degree in sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, a master’s degree in medical sciences from Loyola University Chicago and doctor of osteopathic medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.  She then completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Spindel’s scope of practice includes sick visits, newborn visits, well-child exams and physicals.  She has a special interest in treating pediatric mental health, ADHD, adolescent medicine and providing lactation education to mothers.

Dr. Spindel lives in Lexington with her husband, Jeff.  In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family, running, biking, hiking, listening to records and cooking with her husband.
