Marylee Bullock was called from this earth to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Marylee was born to Hobert and Cynthia Louise Long of Stanford, KY on December 1, 1937. She is survived by her son Derrick Naylor of Lexington KY, daughter-in-law Shirley Naylor of Dillwyn, VA, daughter-in-law Cheryl Naylor of Danville, KY, brother Henry Long (Mary Ann) of Franklin, TN, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and adoring friends. She has joined her beloved daughter, Debbie Naylor and son Daniel Naylor, parents Hobert and Cynthia, and sister Sue Woodall of Somerset, KY, who all preceded her in death.
Before her retirement in 2012, Marylee was the staple for the Office of the Chief of Police at the University of Virginia since 1970. She was loved and adored by all who met her and knew her. She had a loving heart and was always lending a helping hand to those in need. She expressed her love for her friends and family with thoughtful cards, letters, and unexpected gifts. Her love knew no boundaries and she cherished all of her family and friendships.
Marylee enjoyed the theater, playing bridge, loved to travel, catch her favorite episodes on PBS and the Hallmark Channel, and most of all shopping for her family and close friends. Her favorite breakfast place was The Villa Diner on Emmet Street where everyone greeted her by her name!
She will be deeply missed by all who made contact with her. After her daughter Debbie’s passing in 2017, Marylee resided in Falls Church, VA, but kept her connections with friends in Charlottesville, VA where she had lived for over 47 years.
A memorial service for Marylee Bullock and her daughter, Deborah Naylor,will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY. Burial will immediately follow services.
