| Virginia L. Martin, 82, of Stanford, KY passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Born on May 14, 1939 in Stanford to the late Edward and Pina Coontz VonLinger. She was a member of Eastern Star and an Army wife for 20 years. She was a member of Stanford Baptist Church and has been attending Blue Lick Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Powell Martin of Stanford, KY; two sons, Mike Martin (Donna) of Lexington, KY and Mark Martin (Jill) of Green Field, IN; one daughter, Regina Martin of Stanford; six grandchildren, Sarabeth Edwards (Robbie) of Stanford, Emily Sergent of Stanford, Jackson Martin of Green Field, IN, Trent Martin (Taylor) of Lexington, KY, Ryan O’Connor (Kyle) of Lexington, KY and Andi Ralston (Mike) of Stanford; eight great-grandchildren, Lane Sergent, Isla Edwards, Isaac Edwards, Blake Ralston, Mason Ralston, Hunter Ralston, Michael O’Connor and Noah O’Connor; one sister, Flora Mae Barrett; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Pina VonLinger; one son, Mitchell Martin; an infant sister, Florance VonLinger A one-day service has been scheduled for Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. Bill Rhodus officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Active Pallbearers: Mike Martin, Mark Martin, Trent Martin, Jackson Martin, Rob Edwards and Mike Ralston. Honorary Pallbearers: Lane Sergent, Kyle O’Connor, Hunter Ralston and Mason Ralston.
