STANFORD – A 21-year-old Stanford man was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

K9 Sgt. Michael Mullins and other deputies were dispatched to Ky. Hwy. 150 west, near Wilderness Trail Road, at about 2 a.m. on Dec. 14 for a motor vehicle collision with one person entrapped in the vehicle.

When deputies arrived on scene they found a Ford F150 pickup truck overturned in the median.

“We did find one person that was trapped and he was deceased,” Mullins said.

Aaron Berry, 21, of Stanford was pronounced dead on the scene.

Mullins said the initial investigation indicates that Berry was driving eastbound when his vehicle left the roadway, hit the median and traveled about 220 feet before hitting the median again.

“He then became airborne and flipped in the air. The vehicle came down on it’s top,” he said.

Mullins said toxicology reports are pending.

“It’s under investigation and pending toxicology results,” he said.

No other vehicles were involved.

The Lincoln County Coroner, Lincoln County Fire and EMS and Kentucky State Police assisted on scene.

Mullins is overseeing the investigation.
