Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Daphne Sword, R.N., a nurse in the Cardiovascular Unit at EMRMC, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Casey County, Daphne has been caring for patients at EMRMC for just over one year.

She was nominated by a patient who said, “Daphne was like a mother to me. Pleasant voice and kind-hearted. She answered every question and tended to all of my needs. She has a kind soul and is amazing. Even if it was one or two days, she brightened my day.”

Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day.
