The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) recently recognized Stanford Mayor Dalton Miller with a KLC Level I and Level II award for Achievement in City Governance and Excellence in City Governance. In addition, KLC presented City Clerk Jone Allen and Code Enforcement Officer Jeff Knouse a Level I award for Achievement in City Governance.

KLC administers the City Officials Training Center (COTC), a voluntary education program. City officials can complete education levels by attending KLC events and submitting outside educational credit from other municipal training.

“Providing a variety of training through the COTC program better equips our local leaders throughout the commonwealth,” said KLC Executive Director/CEO J.D. Chaney. “These awards show the dedication and service mentality of our city officials.”

“The training that KLC provides is vital to all city employees,” responded Mayor Miller. “The League is always willing to assist city officials.”

The Level I Achievement in City Governance award requires a city official to attend 30 hours of approved training with one hour of ethics training.

The Level II Excellence in City Governance award requires a city official to attend 60 hours of approved training with two hours of ethics training.
