The number of COVID-19 cases continues to decline in Lincoln County, according to the Lincoln County Health Department (LCHD).

LCHD Director Diane Miller said as of Monday there were a total of 95 active COVID-19 cases reported in Lincoln County

“Our cases are declining,” she said.

LCHD was monitoring 15 contacts to those cases as of Monday morning.

Miller reported nine individuals were hospitalized due to the virus.

A total of 89 COVID-19-related deaths have been confirmed by the state since the start of the outbreak, and Miller said she will be sending two new deaths to the state for review this week.

“The total number of cases since the pandemic started is 4,368,” Miller said.

Miller said the LCHD plans to host some booster clinics in the future for those interested in receiving a booster shot.

“I am at the present doing a number count so anyone who is interested in getting a booster please call our department for more information and the eligibility process,” she said. “We will be doing boosts of all three which is the Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson.”

Any individuals who have not yet been vaccinated and are interested in doing so can still receive vaccinations at the LCHD.

Children ages five to 11 have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Miller said parents who are interested in having their child vaccinated can contact the LCHD. Miller said the Lincoln County School District will also be surveying parents to see how many are interested.

Miller said she is also encouraging the public to go ahead and get the flu shot.
