Each year the Logan-Whitley Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, presents the DAR Youth Citizenship Award to one boy and one girl in the 8th grade at Lincoln County Middle School who have demonstrated qualities of
• Honor: honesty, high principles, trustworthiness, loyalty, truthfulness, punctuality, moral strength, cleanliness in mind and body.
• Service: cooperation, meritorious behavior bringing honor to school or community, kindliness, unselfishness, true Americanism.
• Courage: mental and physical, determination to overcome obstacles.
• Leadership: personality, originality, ability to lead others, good sportsmanship, responsibility.
• Patriotism: fundamental Americanism.

The recipients of these awards receive the DAR Youth Citizenship Medal and Certificate. The 2021 recipients are Cayley Thornsberry and Toby Sallee.
