Junior American Citizens’ Contest Awards announced; Lay wins first place in the nation

The results of the 2020-2021 JAC contest entries at the state, national east-central division, and national level have arrived. The Logan-Whitley Chapter, DAR is proud to announce the winners of this year’s contest.

Lincoln County JAC students compete on the following levels: Chapter, State, East Central National Division (which includes Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia) and National. Last year the Logan-Whitley Chapter was proud to have Lincoln County students receive eight state awards: one first place, six second-place awards and one third-place award. The first place award went on to win first place in the East Central National Division and first place nationally! All awards have been delivered to their schools.

The theme for this year’s contest was: “The 400th Anniversary of the Mayflower: Rise and Shine for New Opportunities in a New Land”
• Short Story:
Kaydance Lay, 4th grade Stanford Elementary, State 1st place, East Central Division 1st place, and 1st place in the Nation.
