CRAB ORCHARD – A man was arrested on drug-trafficking charges after deputies allegedly found suspected cocaine, heroin, and Xanax, as well as drug-trafficking paraphernalia, in his home.
Nicholas Jackson, 22, was arrested on May 16 on multiple charges following a narcotics investigation.
According to the arrest citation, K9 Deputy Michael Mullins and Deputy Brian Cloyd traveled to 296 Kocher Ridge Road, Crab Orchard, in reference to a complaint about suspected drug trafficking at the residence.
Mullins made contact with Jackson in the front yard and spoke to him about the complaint.
“He began to become nervous,” the arrest citation states.
Jackson gave deputies consent to search his person, where they found a “weed pipe in his front pocket” and a “clear baggy with a white rock substance inside his front pant pocket.”
Mullins said Jackson stated the substance was cocaine and that he “just purchased it for $350 from a guy in Berea.”
Deputies were given consent to search Jackson’s room. His mother was present while deputies searched the room, according to the arrest citation.
“I observed a cut-down straw in plain view on the bed, under the mattress was several baggies, one contained approximately 4.5 grams of a gray substance, several baggies with white pill bars with “X”, baggies of marijuana, scales, and new empty baggies were located inside of the nightstand drawer,” the citation states.
Jackson told deputies the substances were either cocaine or heroin and that all of it was for personal use. During the investigation, deputies located approximately 16 grams of cocaine and 4.5 grams of heroin.
“A 30-06 rifle was loaded and inside of the bedroom,” the citation states.
Deputies arrested Jackson at about 8:30 p.m. on multiple charges including trafficking in controlled substances (cocaine, heroin, drug unspecified); possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified); possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
