The application process for the Lincoln County Educational Fund scholarship has begun and students may apply by obtaining an application at Lincoln County High School. The deadline to apply is March 30.
The purpose of the LCEF is to provide needed financial assistance to graduating Lincoln County students who aspire to continue their education at a college, university, or technical school. Awards are made on the basis of outstanding character and financial need, along with at least a 2.0-grade point average.
LCEF has awarded $478,750 to Lincoln County graduates over the past five years.

“One unique feature of the LCEF is the funding source,” said LCEF President Woods Adams. “The scholarship is primarily funded by generous alumni of Lincoln County Schools including Broughtontown, Crab Orchard, Highland, Hustonville, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, McKinney, Memorial, Moreland, Stanford, and Waynesburg High Schools. We have a great community of former students that believe in investing in current students that want the opportunity to better themselves through post-secondary education.”
The recipients of the scholarship will be awarded on May 6 during the scholarship awards night at Lincoln County High School. Students may apply at the school by obtaining an application from the guidance office.
