Millard C. Mason, age 98, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at his residence. Born Friday, February 10, 1922 in Lincoln County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Lewis and Celia Routin Mason. Millard was the widower of the late Lola Bea Jacobs Mason, who preceded him in death on Wednesday, July 27, 1994. He was a bronze star recipient, World War II Army Veteran, had 4 battle stars and was so proficient with firearms that his nickname was “Deadeye.” Millard was of Christian faith and was a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, growing a garden and raising chickens.
Millard leaves behind five sons, Hobart Mason (Sue) of Waynesburg, Clem Mason (Kim) of Stanford, Kentucky, Louis Mason (Renate) of Waynesburg, Carl Mason (Cheryl) of Kings Mountain, Kentucky and Jeff Mason of Liberty, Kentucky; three daughters, Sylvia Leach (Jerry) of Waynesburg, Pam Mason of Waynesburg and Bonnie Hasty (Bobby) of Waynesburg; 25 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and one on the way; 6 great great grandchildren and one on the way; and one sister, Elise Terry.
In addition to his wife and parents, Millard was preceded in death by two sons, Dan Mason and Neil Mason; one daughter, Susie Mason; three brothers, Elly Mason, Lloyd Mason and Jesse Mason; and two sisters, Mayme Gerkey and Ortiha Bunch.
A Private Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrel officiating the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Jerrett Mason, Jacob Mason, Danny Dailey, Daniel Mason, Chris Smallwood, Sam New, Eric Mason, Chris Wilcher and Shaye Harris will serve as Active Pallbearers.
The Private Funeral Service will be live streamed on Fox & Friend Funeral Home’s Facebook page beginning at 1:00PM Wednesday.
A Public Visitation will be held 11:00AM-12:30PM Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the funeral home.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID -19 regulations, masks must be worn by all in attendance for the Public Visitation and the Funeral Service; and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
