Nancy Carol Sudduth, age 85, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Lancaster, Kentucky. Born Saturday, May 4, 1935 in Harlan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Asa & Lona Stump Swim. Nancy was the widow of the late Ralph E. Sudduth, who preceded her in death Tuesday, February 3, 1998. Nancy worked, for many years, in Lincoln County Government. Many of those years, she worked as Judge Pro Tem for Judge Earl Butcher. In fact, she was the first female to serve in that position. Throughout her career, she also worked under Sheriff T.J. Hester and Lincoln County Clerk Bill Folger. Nancy was a devout Christian. She was a member of Gilberts Creek Baptist Church in Crab Orchard, Kentucky and previously attended New Life Church of God of Prophecy in Waynesburg, Kentucky. For many years, Nancy worked in the local Prison Ministry. Nancy dearly loved her two granddaughters. She was an excellent cook; and loved to travel, in her spare time. Nancy leaves behind one daughter, Kimberly Sudduth Jones (Chuck) of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; two granddaughters, Gina James (Collin) of James Island, South Carolina, and Whitney Barry (Brian) of Argyle, Texas; two expectant great-grandchildren in May 2021; one brother, Jerry Swim (Wilma) of Loyall, Kentucky; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing. In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by one infant son, Gerald Sudduth; and one brother, Buddy Swim. A Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Friday, January 15, 2021 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Smith & Bro. Rick Naylor officiating the service. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery. The Public Funeral Service will be live streamed on Fox & Friend Funeral Home’s Facebook page. The Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Friday at the funeral home. PLEASE NOTE: Due to current regulations, those attending the Public Visitation, Funeral Service, and/or Graveside Service will be required to wear masks; and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
