Billy Harmon Lear, 85, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 31, at The University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. He was the husband of Joy (Faulkner) Lear whom he married on Dec. 26, 1958. Billy was a retired farmer and a former employee of Whirlpool. He was a member of the Corinth Christian Church in Richmond and was a veteran of the United States Army. Billy loved farming and fishing when he was able. He enjoyed playing Rook and loved his dogs. Most of all Billy loved his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving and faithful wife of 61 years, Joy Lear of Richmond; four children: Lynn & husband Gary Grant of Richmond, Gayle & husband Less Cruse of Lake City, Florida, Russ Lear & wife Ranjini of Austin, Texas, Carla & husband Allen Roberts of Richmond; a sister, Dorothy & husband Bill Mullins of Richmond; four grandsons: Justin Williams, Matthew Lear, AJ & Curtis Roberts; a great granddaughter, Ketrey Williams.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert & Howard Lear.

Pallbearers include: Lester Hopkins, Curtis Roberts, Less Cruse, Allen Roberts, Gary Grant & Justin Williams, and honorary pallbearers include Donald Simpson, AJ Roberts & Matthew Lear.

Private funeral services will be held. Bro. David Evans and Shelby Roy Hopkins will be officiating the services.

A drive-thru visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at McKnight Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Hopkins Family Cemetery with military honors by the Caswell Saufley American Legion Post #18 of Stanford.
