Four members of the Lincoln County High School Beta Club earned a trip to the 2020 National Senior Beta Club Convention with their presentations at the Kentucky Senior Beta Club Convention in Louisville.

Thirty-one members of the LCHS Beta Club attended the state convention held at the Kentucky International Convention Center Jan. 19-21 and of those 31, four had national-qualifying presentations.

Of the four national qualifiers, three brought home first-place finishes. Aaron Cook won in the Agriscience competition while Sierra Downey was first in Poetry and Allison Westerfield was the top individual in Black/White Photo competition.

Bailey Story rounded out the list of Lincoln’s national qualifiers placing fourth overall in On-Site Art.

During the state convention, competitions consisted of academic tests, quiz bowl, two-dimensional design, visual/performing arts, written compositions and engineering.

Kade Bandura, Beta Club president, was also part of a Lincoln “first” at the state convention, as the local chapter had an engineering team competing for the first time ever. On the team with Bandura were Gavin Fowler, Carter Muse and Caydunn Randall.
