Lincoln Co. Farm Bureau receives awards at KFB annual meeting

LOUISVILLE — The Lincoln County Farm Bureau was on the receiving end of multiple awards at the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s annual meeting in Louisville.

The local Farm Bureau was awarded the Gold Star Award of Excellence, top honors for it’s region in the state’s Safety Challenge competition and for Outstanding Membership and Program Achievement.

The Lincoln County Farm Bureau Women’s Program was the recipient of the 2019 Gold Star Award of Excellence at the state meeting.

The award honors county Women’s Committees for active participation in leadership development programs, agricultural promotion, educational initiatives and numerous other aspects of support to the local Farm Bureau.

Thelma Blair, Lincoln County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee chair, accepted the award from Vicki Bryant, chair of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Sate Women’s Committee.

The top honors for its region in the state’s Safety Challenge competition went to the Lincoln County Farm Bureau for its “Skin Cancer Prevention and Awareness” program. 

More than 375 people participated in the program designed to raise awareness of the dangers of unprotected exposure and encourage sun-safe habits. 

Lincoln County Farm Bureau’s Paul Hall was on hand at the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Safety Challenge Awards competition to accept top honors from KFB President Mark Haney.

Josh Brown, President of the Lincoln County Farm Bureau, accepted the award for Outstanding Membership and Program Achievement from John Sparrow, Executive Vice President and CEO of KFB Insurance.

The award honors county Farm Bureau offices who meet the company’s profitability requirements and whose insurance policy growth meets or exceeds its annual growth goal.

 Kentucky Farm Bureau, with more than 462,000 member families statewide, is the state’s largest general farm organization. Approximately 2,000 members attended KFB’s 100th annual meeting in Louisville, December 4 – December 7, to recognize this year’s individual and organizational achievements and adopt policy for 2020.
