STANFORD — Lincoln County Schools has announced the hiring of Jessica Woods to fill the position of Family Resource Center Coordinator for the South Lincoln Resource Center (Highland and Waynesburg Elementary).

Woods previously held the same position at Paces Creek Elementary in Clay County. She also worked for Clay County High School and at the Kentucky River District Health Department as a health educator. During her career as an FRC in Clay County, Woods utilized relationships with community partners to ensure the success of outreach programs at Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as a school supply outreach and a school backpack program.

“My passion is helping children in need. Whether it’s making sure they have food to eat, proper clothing, or making sure they have the support and tools they need to apply to college, it’s truly where my heart is,” said Mrs. Woods.

Lincoln County Schools Director of Pupil Personal Brandi Hon remarked, “We are very excited to add Mrs. Woods to our staff. We feel like her experience and knowledge will be a great asset to Team Lincoln.”

Hon added, “I also want to thank Kendra Mitchell for filling in during this busy time of the year while we made the transition from Mrs. Hignite to Mrs. Woods. Mrs. Hignite had put in a lot of hard work, and Kendra picked it right up and continued on to ensure that families had what they needed during the holiday season.”

Jessica and her husband, Adam, have two sons. She enjoys baking, cooking and camping with them in her spare time. She will begin her new position with the school system on January 2nd.
