STANFORD — Stanford Police SRO Officer Preston Middleton was dispatched to Lincoln County Middle School this morning after it was reported that a student threatened to stab two other LCMS students with a knife.
The quick response of eyewitnesses allowed school administrators to act swiftly through removing and isolating the suspect. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the student had a pocket knife in his possession. The student was charged with 3rd degree terroristic threatening and immediately removed from school grounds.
“I want to stress that the safety of all Lincoln County School children is my top priority,” SRO Middleton stated. “I cannot say it enough – if a child or adult breaks any local, state or federal law while on school grounds, they will be charged. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any acts of violence, harassment, bullying and other crimes in our schools.”
“Please speak to your children about these things at home and let them know the seriousness of their words and actions. Making threats is not a joking matter and will never be taken lightly. We will continue to charge students who do these things.”
