Lincoln County residents will have two opportunities to donate blood this month, with blood drives scheduled in both Stanford and Crab Orchard.

The Lincoln County Community Blood Drive will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the KBC Bloodmobile at Stanford Care and Rehabilitation, 105 Harmon Heights, Stanford. The Crab Orchard Community Blood Drive will follow on Monday, Oct. 21, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Crab Orchard Elementary cafeteria at 137 Lancaster Street, Crab Orchard.

Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org. Walk-ins are welcome.
