Garrard Co. man indicted for murder in Spurlock case

LANCASTER — The Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 13th Judicial District of Kentucky, convened a Special Grand Jury panel in Garrard County this morning to hear the case regarding the disappearance and death of Savannah Spurlock.

As a result of the ongoing investigation by the Kentucky State Police and Richmond Police Department, the Grand Jury returned an indictment this afternoon on David Sparks of Lancaster, KY, for Murder, Abuse of a Corpse, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. The indictment warrant was served on Sparks tonight at the Lincoln County Detention Center, where he has remains incarcerated since his arrest on July 11, 2019.
