With profound sadness we announce the passing of Carolyn (Carol) Wyler Helton, our loving mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on May 25, 2019.
Carolyn had been battling pancreatic cancer for the past year. However, not even cancer could slow her down. Her Silver Sneakers group, Book Club and all her friends gave her strength to battle this terrible disease. Carolyn was always a fighter. Even during the time fighting the cancer and not feeling well she found ways to travel and be with her family and friends.
Carolyn died peacefully in her sleep in her Northern Kentucky home. She was surrounded by her family.
Born November 11, 1934, in Stanford, Kentucky, she is predeceased by her parents, Chris and Matilda Laudemann Wyler; her late husband, Roscoe Helton; and her brothers and sisters, Albert Wyler, Fred Wyler, Margaret Alford, Ida Mae Gover, and Elizabeth Cooper.
Carolyn is survived by her sister, Rosa Lee Carrier; her three sons and their wives, Scott and Judy Newsom, Rodney and Molly Newsom, Randy and Nicole Newsom; her daughter, Shawn Murphy; grandchildren, Scott Newsom, Amanda (Newsom) Wheeler, Erin Murphy, Ashley (Murphy) Tameron, Amy (Murphy) Westling, Emily (Newsom) Scarsella, Leah Newsom, Natalie Newsom and Nathan Newsom; great-grandchildren, Mark Newsom, Beau Newsom, Kate Wheeler, Quinn Wheeler, Elliot Tameron, Harrison Scarsella.
Carolyn will have a celebration of life ceremony on June 8, 2019 starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Stanford Christian Church, 200 East Main Street, Stanford.
