The Lincoln County High School archery team swept the competition in the Woodford National Warm-up in Versailles Saturday, winning the team competition and both the girls and boys individual divisions.

The top 12 archers on the Lincoln team compiled a score of 3,402 to claim the team victory, outscoring the runner-up team, host Woodford County, by 196 points. Woodford had a team score of 3,206. In the individual standings, Lincoln’s Gavin Fowler and McKenzie Settles led their divisons with Fowler taking the boys title with a 292 and Settles winning the girls title with a 291.

Settles and her Lady Patriot teammates dominated their division, with Lincoln archers claiming eight of the top 10 spots.

Settles led the way followed by Megan Martin and Alexis Adams in second and third with scores of 283. Martin claimed the higher spot with 18 tens compared to Adams’ 17. Emmalee Patterson scored a 282 to place fourth, Jennifer Radcliff took fifth with a 281 (18 tens), Madelynn Durham was sixth with a 281 (16 tens), Alideya Paul came in seventh with a 280 and Sierra Downey was eighth with a 276.

Julia Brillowski and Anemone Rishel of Woodford County rounded out the top 10, with Brillowski placing ninth with a 274 and Rishel, 10th, with a 269.

The Patriot archers were just as dominating in their division, taking six of the boys top 10 spots.

Jacob Holtzclaw finished as runner-up behind Fowler with a 288, Garrett Robertson was fourth with a 283, John Hughes came in fifth with a 282, Jacob Schuler placed eighth with a 266 and Bret Edgington was 10th overall with a 264.

Rockcastle County’s Kyle Coffey finished third in the boys division with a 286 and Woodford’s Shaun Lavin, Eli McIntosh and CJ Tupman finished sixth, seventh and ninth. Lavin had a 278, McIntosh a 271 and Tupman a 266.

Lincoln had a total of 22 archers on the range in Saturday’s competition. Rounding out LCHS’ team scoring were:

Madilyn Clarkson – 256.

Allissa Doss – 250.

Taylor Wesley – 250.

Emily Martin – 232.

Allison Hubble – 213.

Fletcher Oakes – 207.

Phillip Lane – 163.

The Lincoln County Middle School archery team also performed well at Versailles Saturday, placing second overall with a team score of 3,238. Anderson County Middle School won the team division with a 3,366.

Three of the LCMS boys earned a top 10 finish in the competition. Leevi Warren had the team high of sixth place with a 279, Dakota Floyd placed ninth with a 276 and Jimmy Deatherage scored a 275 to take the 10th spot.

In the girls division, Katie Martin had LCMS’ high finish by placing third with a score of 283. Kalyn Peek also found herself among the top 10, finishing eighth with a 277.

Chance Gipson of Herald Whitaker Middle was the boys individual winner in the middle school competition, scoring a 287. First in the girls division was Anna Ferguson of Anderson County Middle, who had a 285.

Waynesburg Elementary School archers represented Lincoln County at Versailles as well, with Chloe Phillips and Baillie Hubble both taking aim in the tourney. Phillips had a score of 212 and Hubble had a 200.
