Viva Jones Rothwell, 84, of Moreland, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, April 15, 2019.

Born September 2, 1934, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Violet Russell Jones. Viva was a member of Westside Community United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards and being with her friends. For many years, her fabric store was a frequent gathering place for people in the community. She could be found behind her sewing machine or crocheting while her grandkids played on the fabric tables. Viva will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Viva was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Samuel Rothwell, Sr.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie S. (Janet) Rothwell, Jr. of Hustonville and Russell Keith (Denise) Rothwell of Moreland; sister, Margaret Roberts of Danville; five grandchildren, Christy Rothwell (Darren Wolfe), Erin (Jeremy) Kraus, Nikki Rothwell, Rusty Rothwell and Sammy Rothwell; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, April 19 at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Coppings and Chaplain Brad King officiating. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight (Thursday, April 18) at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Eddie Rothwell, Jr., Keith Rothwell, Jeremy Kraus, Sammy Rothwell, Rusty Rothwell, Evan Wolfe, Alex Wolfe and Holden Kraus.
