Softball shutout

The Lady Patriot softball team suffered a shutout on its home diamond Thursday as visiting Tates Creek blanked Lincoln 15-0 in five innings.

The Lady Commodores scored their 15 runs off 16 hits against Lincoln pitchers Lydia Rice, Savannah Robbins and Kaylynn Smith.

The Lady Commodores scored all the runs they needed in the top of the first, with two runs scored. They added six runs in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth and one more in the fifth.

Lillie Kluesner got the complete-game win, giving up just one hit and one walk with three strikeouts.

Kaylynn Smith had Lincoln’s lone hit.

The Lady Patriots will be on the road for their next four games, playing at Madison Southern today at 6 p.m., Madison Central Friday at 6 p.m. and at South Laurel on Saturday in a doubleheader at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
