Stanford Lions Radio Auction

The Stanford Lions Club will hold its ninth annual radio auction on Saturday, April 13 from noon to 8 p.m. on WPBK 102.9 FM. There are over 165 items available to be bid on and they can be viewed on the Stanford Lions Facebook page. Breakfast and shopping with the Easter bunny

Plan to have breakfast and shop with the Easter bunny on Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lincoln County Extension office. Tickets are $5 and includes pancakes, sausage, drink and a photo with the Easter bunny (children under three eat free with paying adult). Baby chicks and bunnies will be available from the 4-H Clubs. Nature’s Thyme Herb Group to enjoy plant walk

Nature’s Thyme Herb Group will meet at Fort Boonesboro on Saturday, April 13 at 9:45 a.m. for their Plant Walk. Blood drive

Kentucky Blood Center has scheduled a blood drive for Monday, April 22 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria at Crab Orchard Elementary School, 137 Lancaster Street. Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Walk-ins are welcome. Ribbon Cutting at Revolution Sports

Revolution Sports, located on the corner of Hwy. 27 and Fairgrounds Road, will be celebrating with a grand opening and ribbon cutting on Friday, April 12 from 4:30-6 p.m. The ribbon cutting will be at 5 p.m. There will be refreshments, tours, door prizes and network opportunities. If you are unable to make Friday’s ribbon cutting, the festivities will continue on Saturday April 13, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call Revolution Sports at (606) 661-0122.

Heritage Hospice to host volunteer training

Heritage Hospice, Inc. will host volunteer training on Thursday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 pm at Heritage Hospice, 120 Enterprise Drive, Danville. To register, contact Volunteer Services at (859) 236-2425 or email, rknies@heritagehospice.com. Other dates available upon request.

LC Democratic Men and Women to meet

The Lincoln County Democratic Women along with the Lincoln County Democratic Executive Committee will meet Thursday, April 11, at the Lincoln County Courthouse, beginning at 5 p.m. Guest speakers include candidates for state office running in the primary election. They are Josh Mers (KY State Treasurer), Robert Conway (Agriculture Commissioner), and Mike Caperton (KY Court of Appeals). Egg My Yard

Lincoln County 4-H will gladly Egg Your Yard. On the evening of Friday, April 19 after 8 p.m., 4-H members will egg your front yard with candy-filled eggs (peanut free) for your children to wake up to a surprise! Please only egg your own home. Call (606) 365-2447 or email courtney.brock@uky.edu with any questions or to sign-up. Cost is $25 for 50 eggs and $50 for 100 eggs. Spaces are limited, so sign up today. Bring your payment to the Lincoln County Extension Office by Friday, April 12. Make you checks payable to Lincoln County 4-H.

Logan-Hubble Park events

There will be a Wildflower Walk at the Logan-Hubble Park on Saturday, April 13 starting at 9 a.m. Eric Comley, Garrard County 4-H Extension agent will be the guide. Walkers are asked to park in the parking lot next to the playground and shelter #4. There will also be a clean up/work day following the Wildflower Walk. The cleanup is sponsored by Bluegrass Greensource Clean Sweep Program and East Kentucky PRIDE. Volunteers welcome.

Logan’s Fort Spring sale

The Logan’s Fort Foundation Inc. will hold a Spring Sale April 25-27 at the Logan’s Fort Welcome Center on Martin Luther King Street, Stanford. The sale goes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Spring Sale items include antiques, household items, collectibles, slightly worn clothing and other items. All proceeds to be used to build a cabin at the Fort.

Cupcake Wars

The Lincoln County Public Library will host Cupcake Wars on Saturday, April 13 at noon. Kids and teens ages 6-18 can come show off their creativity in our Cupcake Wars Decorating Competition. Cupcake design must relate to our summer reading theme, outer space. Space is limited, call (606) 365-7513 to reserve your spot!

4-H Flower Sale

The 4-H Flower Sale will be held Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Hobby Lobby parking lot in Danville. Hanging baskets for $10 – $25, herbs perennials and more. Pay with cash, check or card. Proceeds to benefit the 4-H Dominican Republic project.

Exploration Station: Sun Safety

The Lincoln County Public Library will host Exploration Station: Sun Safety on Tuesday, April 9. Stop by the Makerspace any time between 5 and 7 p.m.. Kids and Teens will learn about safety in the sun. The importance of sunglasses, sunscreen, clothing will all be discussed. The science of UV beads will be discussed and demonstrated.

Living with diabetes

A diabetes self-management education and support class will be held Thursday, April 4 and 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lincoln County Extension office. Must register by calling (606) 365-2447. Must attend both sessions. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Instructors are Julie Steber, RD, LD, CDE, MLDE and Rita Stewart, County Extension Agent.

Annual Big Toy Day

The Annual BIG TOY DAY will be held Saturday, April 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Showroom on the corner of 2405 Lebanon Road in Danville. From 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. there will be no honking or noise to accommodate those with sensory issues. 20 a car load. Tickets available at the Child Development Center or at the door the day of the event.

LC Early Childhood Registration

Lincoln County Early Childhood registration (preschool/head start/early head start) will be held in April. Child must be birth to four years old on/or before August, 1, 2018. Schedule appointments now by calling (606) 365-9371. Registration will be held at the Stanford Early Childhood Center connected to Stanford Elementary (enter through Early Childhood Center doors). You must bring the following: 1) child you are enrolling, 2) copy of the child’s certified birth certificate (not the hospital birth record). If you do not have this, bring $10 check or $11 cash to order a Kentucky Birth Certificate, 3) Income verification (tax return, check stub, W2, etc.), 4) social security card of child being enrolled (optional).

Crab Orchard Community Garden

A Crab Orchard Community Garden, sponsored by the Lincoln County 4-H, is free to residents and children. Grow food and share with your neighbors. Supplies provided. Meet at the city park in Crab Orchard the first Friday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. For more information, call (606) 365-2447.
