DANVILLE – Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Samantha Megilligan, RN, a nurse in the OrthoSpineCenter, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award.

A resident of Lincoln County, Samantha has been caring for patients at EMRMC for four years.

She was nominated by a patient’s family member that said, “I believe all of the staff went above and beyond the usual measures while caring for my stepdad. I would love to see all of them recognized for a job well-done. However, Sam went a step further-showing compassion for my stepfather and our family, even after his death. I wanted to make sure she is recognized not only for being an extraordinary nurse … but a wonderful human being as well. She should be used as the example that all nurses should strive to be. EMRMC is a great hospital and will continue to thrive with nurses like Sam looking after your patients … and their families.”
