Congratulations to the Lincoln County Middle School archery team. They placed second in 3D and third in bullseye shooting in Louisville on Saturday. Gavin Fowler placed fourth in 3D. Gavin, Mason Waddell, Kalyn Peek, and Levi Warren all participate on the archery team.

Sunday, March 17 services began with Bro. Kyle baptizing Aiden Coffman. Aiden is the son of Wayne and Amanda Coffman. That is a fantastic way to begin church services!

Sophie Cornett was featured in the song “What a Beautiful Name!” before the congregation joined in on the second verse.

Bro. Kyle’s message was taken from 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 and was entitled “Knowing and Doing God’s Will Pleases God.” He began his message by saying, “When we decide to go our own way, we put knots in our road and life gets tangled up. Life gets harder and harder to free ourselves.”

God wishes all of us to be holy as God is holy! Holy means to be set completely apart and devoted to God. God’s will is for each of us to keep away from sin and immorality. When we reject God’s will, we tell Him we are going our own way and doing our own thing. This spells disaster! We are unworthy broken sinners who can only be restored through the blood of Jesus. Yielding control of our lives to Christ gives us freedom in our lives.

Sunday, March 24 at the church shelter following the 11 a.m. service, we will have a soup and sandwich church-wide fellowship. Please bring a pot of soup or (precut) sandwiches. The church will provide the crackers, desserts, and drinks.

The Ferguson Family will be singing at the Lincoln County Community Center Sunday, March 31 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome!

Starting April 10, we will have adult Bible study the first, second, and fourth Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary. The third Wednesday is reserved for the senior luncheons. Youth worship and GLOW will continue as normal (no change).

DATES TO REMEMBER: Saturday, March 23 – Safety Team training at 8 p.m.; April 3 – Orders/payments for “Forget the Frock t-shirt; April 11 – Senior Living celebration at Richmond; Sunday, May 19 – Senior Adult Day; June – Pioneer Playhouse outing; Sept. – Derby Dinner Theater outing.

Thought for the week: “Without a dream, we reach nothing. Without love, we feel nothing. Without God, we are nothing!”
