The Lincoln County Patriots punched their ticket to the 2019 Boys’ Sweet 16 State Championships with a 63-45 win over Danville Saturday night in the 12th Region Tournament championship game.
The trip to state will be the fifth for the boys program since the school opened in the fall of 1974 and the first since 2008.
The Patriots, led by Coach Jeff Jackson, will play Madisonville-North Hopkins, champions of the 2nd Region, tonight (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m. at Rupp Arena.
Should Lincoln defeat Madisonville-North Hopkins, the team would play the Warren Central/Mayfield winner at 8 p.m. Friday night.
