On Sunday, March 3 Judy Jacobs, Kallie Bailey, and Nikki Wheeler sang “There Is a Fountain” as a special which was absolutely beautiful.

Bro. Ron Andrew brought the morning message entitled The Danger of Being at the Wrong Place at the Wrong Time. Taken from 2 Samuel, it was the story of King David at probably one of his lowest points. During a battle he was at the mercy of giants (probably Goliath’s family). What brought him there? His sin?

Because earlier in 2 Samuel 11 and 12, David stayed at home while his men were in battle with the enemy. Placing himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, he committed a sin by looking on Bathsheba. Events progressed and he finally committed murder to hide his sin. When the prophet Nathan pointed out to him his errors, David confessed and repented to God for what he had done. “Confession does not mean it will not have consequences,” stated Bro. Ron.
David’s house was very troubled because of his sin. He was a “man after God’s own heart”, but he still had repercussions for things he had done. We all are like David. We sin, we confess, and we have consequences to our sins.

We extend sympathy and prayers to Nick and Josh Bastin and their families. Their grandmother, Louise Corman, passed away last week.

Our senior luncheon will be held Wednesday, March 10 at 11:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. It is potluck style with the chicken strips, rolls, and drinks provided. Please bring a side or dessert.

We are purchasing t-shirts for helping the orphans in Haiti with “forget the frock” for Hope 53 for Easter. All orders/payments are due Wednesday, April 3.

Congratulations to the boys varsity basketball team and coaches. Defeating Mercer, Wayne, and Danville high schools in the regional tournament, LCHS is the 12th Regional Champions and will play in Rupp Arena Thursday night (tonight) at 6:30. Congratulations to Blake Smith, Elijah Fry, Riley Bodner, and Jaxon Smith for making the all-tournament team. Brad Petrey is an assistant coach, and Kelby and Jason Petrey are managers for the team.

Thought for the week: “Sin takes us farther than we want to go…keeps longer than we want to stay…and costs us more than we can afford to pay!”
