Raymond Jay Garris, 55, of Stanford, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born April 30, 1963, Raymond was a son of the late Chester Kenneth Garris and the late Drucilla Baker Garris Young. He loved to hunt, fish and mow the grass. One of his favorite things to do was go visit the White Barn, where he loved to dance. He was also a part of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Tabitha Garris of Stanford; three sons, Kenny Garris of Oklahoma, Kevin Garris of Georgia and Kyle Garris of Stanford; one daughter, Martina Garris of Stanford; one brother, Darren Garris (Paula) of Waynesburg; two sisters, Tarry Patterson (David) of Stanford and Crystal Brown (Sam) of Waynesburg; one step-sister, Vicki Moore (Krys) of Morgantown; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 23 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford with Rev. Vicki Moore officiating the service.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.
