4-H Youth are planning an indoor yard sale for Saturday, March 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 104 Metker Trail. All proceeds will be used to attend a service trip to the Dominican Republic.

Hooves of Hope golf scramble

Movie Screening

Afternoon Movie Screening: Thursday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. Join members of our Book Club for an afternoon movie at the Lincoln County Public Library. Light refreshments provided. Summary: Four friends in a book club are inspired to spice things up after reading Fifty Shades of Grey. With each of them in a different romantic situation, the women gather inspiration and tips for the bedroom and try new things later in life.

Family Story Time

Family Story Time: Little Red Riding Hood Science: Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 5:30 p.m. Families with children of all ages are invited to join us at the Lincoln County Public Library as we read the story of Little Red Riding Hood, learn about animal habitats and then design and create our own animal habitats. All ages welcome! No registration required.

Baking for one, two or a few

Baking for one, two or a few will be held Monday, Feb. 25 starting at 11 a.m. at the Lincoln County Extension office. Participants will learn about “treat foods” not everyday foods! After you have your fruits and vegetables, lean proteins and whole grain rich foods, you might have room to indulge in desserts, cakes, cookies and candies. Meat Cutting Demo

A meat cutting demo will be held Thursday, March 7 at 6 p.m. at the Lincoln County Extension Office. Guest instructor will be Dr. Gregg Rentfrow, UK Meats Specialist. Learn about the different cuts of meat, how to cook those cuts, and how to cut your very own designer steaks. Free meal grilled by the Lincoln County Cattlemen’s Association members. Prepare to Care: A Planning Guide for Families

A free Planning Guide for Families workshop will be held Tuesday, March 12 at 10 a.m. at the Lincoln County Extension Office. Come, learn through an interactive skit presented by your own friends, learn about information, resources, and checklists to help you get organized and find support. Local blood donors are heroes

Local patients depend on anonymous heroes who roll up their sleeves to save lives. Cancer treatments, premature births, car accidents, diseases, surgeries and more require blood transfusions, and those patients’ lives are saved or enhanced by local blood donors.

Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) is inviting generous donors to help local patients by giving at the blood drive scheduled for Monday, Feb. 25 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the cafeteria at Crab Orchard Elementary School, 137 Lancaster Street. All donors will receive a long-sleeved KBC Hero T-shirt.

What is a High Tunnel?

Come and explore what a high tunnel is. Learn how to grow plants successfully in a high tunnel, how you could benefit from high tunnel growing and about grant availability for constructing a high tunnel. An Area Backgrounders information meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Boyle County Extension Office, 99 Corporate Drive in Danville. The program will include information on Feeder Cattle Diets and Marketing Strategies.

Septic System Problems?

A free workshop will be held to help those with Septic System Problems on Tuesday, March 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Hustonville Baptist Church Family Life Center. This is for residents who reside within the Hanging Fork and Clarks Run watersheds. The workshop will inform participants of how the septic system works and how to properly maintain it to prevent expensive repairs.
